Shadow financing itself casting a shadow on traditional banks.....
The
Financial Times (Capital markets p.30) looks at how so-called
shadow banks, which may include peer-to-peer-lenders, private equity firms and
investment funds, are grabbing a healthy slice of the business historically
under the control of the older, established names. The differing regulatory
environments has something to do with it.....
Mergers and acquisitions ...... where are they ?
"Business Comment" in the Daily Telegraph (p.B2) ponders the lack
of activity in the M&A sector at a time when conditions would seem to be
nigh-on perfect. It seems a bit obvious to suggest that this is just a case of
sellers valuing their assets more highly than buyers. Maybe it is that simple,
but what's going to kick-start some action ?
